Releasing our Trout

Last week we finally released the trout we have been caring for.  The children should be really proud of the way they looked after them, with the majority surviving.  This wasn't easy as they had to keep the hatchery in very specific conditions. 

 

Christmas

Between the pantomime, class games and plenty more, the children have enjoyed the festive season.

Victorian Classroom

The children recently got the chance to experience life in a Victorian classroom.

STEM tasks

This past couple of weeks the children have had the chance to use both K'nex and Little Bits during STEM tasks.  The Little Bits task allowed them to look at electrical circuits.  

Math Week

As part of the Scottish national math week the children have taken part in STEM challenges, math mysteries and have tackled some math related art.

Sunshine!

Thursday was Outdoor Classroom Day and what a beautiful day we had for it! P5 enjoyed their maths lesson outside in the glorious sunshine!
The children used their knowledge of co-ordinates to locate cards hidden in the playground. Once they found the card, they had to answer a question from our Health and Well-Being topic.

Back to School

We have had a busy 2 weeks back after the Easter Holidays in P5. We are all enjoying our new health and well-being topic on the World Cup, especially learning football skills in PE.

In maths we have been learning about data handling and time with Miss Lennox.

In language we have been learning to write stories with flashbacks through exploring The Piano, a short  animated film by Aiden Gibbons. Here are some photos of us reading and editing writing examples.
